A HEART THAT’S PURE
MATT 5:8
5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God”.
The Greek word for pure is katharos , It means to be free from corrupt desire or wrongdoing (sin and guilt) and pure or good in God's eyes. Dr. Adrian Rogers describes it as a heart which is pure in motive and exhibits single mindedness. That’s undivided devotion, or to put it another way, one who has spiritual integrity. Pure has to do with attitudes as opposed to actions. You could also say that a pure heart is unmixed in its devotion and motivation.
Revelation 22:4 tells us that those with this type of undivided heart “They shall see His face and His name shall be on their foreheads.” Don’t you want to see Him one day? You can, if you possess a pure heart. No one can have a pure heart unless they first give that heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and become His child, serving only Him with an undivided heart. ON THE WAY HOME, WALK WITH JESUS and live with a PURE heart.
