DO YOU SEEK WISDOM?

Proverbs 9:7-10

7: Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. 8: Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you. 9: Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. 10: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

9:7-10 Are you a mocker or a wise person? You can tell by the way you respond to criticism. Instead of replying with a quick put-down or clever retort when rebuked, listen to what is being said. Learn from your critics; this is the path to wisdom. Wisdom begins with knowing God. He gives insight into living because he created life. To know God is not just to know the facts about him; you must stand in awe of him and have a relationship with him. Do you really want to be wise? Get to know God better and better. (See James 1:5 and 2 Peter 1:2-4 for more on how to become wise.) Tyndale. Life Application Study Bible NIV

Did you notice that this is talking about believers!! It includes the simple fact of knowing God and having a RELATIONSHIP with him as the key to understanding true knowledge and wisdom. So many people want to claim they are wise but truly few are! Oh they may know how to make money or they may know how to run a business from the business angle. Or even my be able to tell someone how to get through a divorce. But Few people have the wisdom that God intends for us to have. The knowledge of God word and how to apply it in our life and every situation that arises in our daily life. I have been blessed to meet several truly WISEMEN and they are a blessing to be able to get to know. I have also met MANY who thought they were and they were a stumbling block for anyone that thought they were wise. So ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and make sure that your wisdom is attained by Gods will not the worlds ways or standards and God will give you the wisdom if you truly seek his will and have that personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST.
