KEEP SERVING GOD
Mark 6:4-5
4 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” 5 He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
6:4 Jesus said that a prophet (in other words, a worker for God) is never honored in his hometown. But that doesn’t make his work any less important. A person doesn’t need to be respected or honored to be useful to God. If friends, neighbors, or family don’t respect your Christian work, don’t let their rejection keep you from serving God.
6:5 Jesus could have done greater miracles in Nazareth, but he chose not to because of the people’s pride and unbelief. The miracles he did had little effect on the people because they did not accept his message or believe that he was from God. Therefore, Jesus looked elsewhere, seeking those who would respond to his miracles and message. Tyndale. Life Application Study Bible NIV.
For those of us who grew up in a small community do we face the trials or unbelief by some people that we have changed our life for God and doing his will instead of our own worldly ways??? If we do encounter these problems don’t let that be a discouragement to you. Just keep being God’s servant and doing his will wherever you are and time will show that JESUS has changed your life. And continue wherever you go to do God’s will!!! And pray that the Holy Spirit will move in others life in seeing just what JESUS can do even to the worst sinners!!! And in seeing your life's testimony maybe affect others to want the peace, love, and joy that only JESUS can give. ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and KEEP SERVING GOD wherever you are!!
