THINK OF OTHERS NOT YOURSELVES
Philippians 2:3-4
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, for not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
2:3 Selfish ambition can ruin a church, but genuine humility can build it. Being humble involves having a true perspective about ourselves (see Romans 12:3). It does not mean that we should put ourselves down. Before God, we are sinners, saved only by God’s grace, but we are saved and therefore have great worth in God’s kingdom. We are to lay aside selfishness and treat others with respect and common courtesy. Considering others’ interests as more important than our own links us with Christ, who was a true example of humility. Tyndale. Life Application Study Bible NIV.
In today’s society, we see this in full force. Everyone seems to think that their way is the only way. Even in politics, today people only see what they desire that is good for their pockets. They don’t consider what is good for the country. We are blessed to be a sovereign country — one that can stand on its own. We still have people that feel we should be giving our sovereignty and security away. Today civil rights are being used to open up our country to others yet we have people here that need help and can’t get it. And it's all being done by political agenda. Where is the humility of Christ of taking care of His people, our people here? Whatever we do we should do selfless.
ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and show your selflessness, not your selfishness.
